Why You Shouldn't Do This

The worst thing you could possibly do is win the lottery. It's pretty universally devastating. There's a good reason the PowerBall "winners" page doesn't have a "Where are they now?" section. If you think winning the lottery makes life a cakewalk, look here.

Doing It Anyway

I don't generally play the lottery. I was coerced some time ago into believing that it's less of a bad deal if you pool resources. So, whenever I *notice* that the PowerBall cash payout is over $50 million I run a pool. The details of how and why I do it are in the Terms and Instructions below. The FAQ, like most, isn't entire FAQ, some of it is questions I anticipated, but many of them are genuine FAQs. I originally created it after answering the same four or five questions over and over. It's worth reading carefully once, then revisiting from time to time.

Pool Details:

OPEN means shares are available to buy.
Running means share sales are closed, but there's still money in the pool playing out.
Closed means the pool is done, no funds remain in it.
Waiting means someone won the jacpot and we're waiting for it to build up again before playing remaining money.

Note: This pool is invitation only. Recently I invited current participants to invite their own friends. So this pool consists of my friends/family, and THEIR friends/family. Sorry to seem exclusive, but since I front the cash, I really do need to have some connection back to the participants.
