Why We'll Invade Iraq
1) Divert attention from the no-longer fun game of "Where's Osama".
2) Divert attention from the administration's utter failure to respond to
the crisis in corporate responsibility.
3) Divert attention from the bloody outcome of the adminstration's
dispicable and incalculably stupid policy regarding Israel/Palestine.
4) Divert attention from the state of the economy.
5) Recapture some of the undeserved post-9/11 popular approval Bush was
enjoying.
6) He was so hellfire raring to go when he first introduced this notion,
that he has no choice but to either see it through or lose face in a huge
way. He's painted himself into a corner, and now he has to do it whether
it makes sense or not.
It *sickened* me to hear him say he wouldn't risk one American life on the
chance that Saddam was a threat, when in fact, he's going to risk 250,000
American lives on the *chance* that Saddam's a threat, especially when
that's not even the real motivation.
It depresses me that he's only been in the office for two years, and look
at the impressive list of failures he has to divert attention from.
I'm so disgusted with him I almost can't verbalize it beyond "GOD he's an
asshole."
