Christmas this year involved Dad and Diane, Me, Pete, and Kelly, and Mark and Jill, along with their two boys Jonathan and Matty, and MaryAlice's daughter Sarah. We've been having a great time. It's a good mix of people, and the kids are really great.

Pete and Kelly arrived a few days earlier. Mark/Jill&Co. arrived, along with me, late on 12/23. There was a short burst of last minute shopping and wrapping, then we all relaxed, ate well, enjoyed Christmas, and are having a ball. You can see that in the pictures.

We've been to the beach, bowling, the pool, the flea market, the mall, I went north to St. Simon's Island to visit Bill and Michaela, Mark and Jill went off alone while I was gone for an anniversary dinner, there've been tennis matches, hockey games in the middle of Dad's street, card games, scrabble, deep-sea fishing, in-house concerts, Shrek, Dr. Doolittle, and serious competition with that hopelessly annoying "pull it! twist it! bop it!" thing that I want to throw into the pond. Tonight we went out to eat en masse and had a nice time, and we went on from there to Lord of the Rings. Tomorrow is New Years Eve, and we'll be launching fireworks over the intercoastal waterway after dinner. Hopefully the Coast Guard won't return fire.

My friend Sue gave me an infrared scope for Christmas, and we'll be taking it out maybe tomorrow night looking for tree frogs and various other wild things. There really is never a dull moment.

Anyway, here are pictures, mostly unedited, from Christmas 2001 in Florida.
